Day by Day Itinerary

  • Day1 Chengdu/Leshan/Chengdu

    Activities for today: Leshan Giant Buddha, Huanglongxi Ancient Town

    08:30, our guide will meet you at your hotel. Drive about 2 hours to Leshan to admire the famous Giant Buddha. The Giant Buddha is a 71 m high sculpture carved into one of the large cliffs by the river, built between 713 and 803 (during the Tang Dynasty). In addition to the Grand Buddha, there are also numerous smaller carvings of various Buddhas on the Grand Buddha Cliff Road. Other than carvings, there are also various temples and shrines scattered about, the beautiful Haoshang bridge, and some wonderful small waterfalls.

    In the afternoon, drive back to Chengdu. En route, we will make a stop-over at Huanglongxi Ancient Town to experience the local histroy and culture.

  • Day2 Chengdu

    Activities for today: Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, Jinli Ancient Street

    Arise early for an unforgettable experience at Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. This base is not only the most important panda scientific research center in the world, but also the home for over 100 giant pandas. You will walk at leisure through the bamboo-framed paths and closely observe giant pandas of different ages eating bamboos, playing with each other, tumbling, and climbing trees. Be sure to not miss the chance to watch female pandas nursing their cubs in the nursery rooms! There is also a very informative Panda Museum where you can learn more scientific facts about giant pandas.

    Around 13:00, return to the downtown area of Chengdu to vist the famous Jinli Ancient Street. Time will steal away as you quietly walk on the lively streets full of delicious local snacks, delicate artifacts, interesting folk shows, and other activities. Our trip concludes with a transfer to your hotel.

    N.B.
    1) We suggest starting your tour at 07:00 from your hotel because the pandas are active at 08:00 - 10:00. They are playing and eating breakfast in their houses and gardens. If you go there so late, the pandas will asleep.

    2) Holding a panda in Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding will cost RMB 1800 for 15 seconds. This is an optional activity for visitors.

Private Transfers:
Between airports / railway station, hotels and scenic spots while sightseeing in the cities specified in the itinerary by the private air conditioned vehicle with driver and English-speaking guide. Separate arrivals and departures will incur extra charges.
Entrance fees:
All entrance fees to scenic spots as listed above in the itinerary. The final arrangement will be determined by local tour guides based on the local circumstances which are beyond the control of LocalChengduTours. ZTG will adhere to the original itinerary as accurately as possible.

All meals as specified in the itinerary. “B” stands for western breakfast “L” for Chinese Lunch in local Chinese restaurant. “D” for Chinese dinner in local Chinese restaurant. The quotation is basic on the above normal meals. If you have any special request about meals, like vegetarian, or Indian food etc, please inform us in advance.
Private tour escort for Sightseeing:
Normal sightseeing activities as outlined in the Itinerary will be escorted with English-speaking guide.
The English-speaking guide and driver of each city accompany you throughout the entire tour in that city. They do not fly with you from one city to another.
Accommodation (if include Yangtze Cruiser):
Service based on two adults sharing on one standard twin/double-bed room (cabin); solo travelers or those who want to occupy one twin/double-bed room/cabin of their own are required to pay additional charge of single supplement rate. A single room (cabin) is subject to availability based on prior request at an additional cost; if the recommended hotel is not available, it will be substituted by a similar class one.
All hotels as listed in the above itinerary serve daily western or Chinese breakfast. All rooms are air-conditioned with private facilities unless specified.
