  • Day2 Chengdu

    Activities for today: Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, People's Park, Jinli Ancient Street

    07:00 AM, drive to see the giant pandas in Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. This base is not only the most important panda scientific research center in the world, but also the home for more than 100 giant pandas. You will walk at leisure through the bamboo-framed paths and closely observe giant pandas of different ages eating bamboos, playing with each other, tumbling, and climbing trees. Be sure to not miss the chance to watch female pandas nursing their cubs in the nursery rooms! There is also a very informative Panda Museum where you can learn more scientific facts about Giant Pandas.

    Chengdu has been called China's "Leisure City" and you’ll then come to the People's Park to experience its relaxing and leisurely pace and lifestyle. Just sit down and order a pot of tea, have a casual chat with your friends and watch locals indulging themselves in different kinds of folk entertainment - napping, playing mahjong, disco dancing, and giving neck massages...

    Later, you will be an impressive visit to the famous Jinli Ancient Street. Time will steal away as you quietly walk on the lively streets full of delicious local snacks, delicate artifacts, interesting folk shows, and other activities.

  • Day3 Chengdu/Lhasa

    Activities for today: Airport transfer (Chengdu, Lhasa)

    Today our Chengdu driver will escort you to Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport for your flight to Lhasa (about 2 hrs). Upon arrival in Lasha, our local guide will be there to receive you at the airport and transfer you to your pre-booked hotel. The rest of the day is free for your own exploration of the city or acclimatize the high altitude.

    Tips for today:
    1. Go for some leisure walking to acclimate the high altitude but avoid strenuous activity after arrival.

    2. You'd better not have bath in case of catching a cold.

    3. Drink more water, have a good rest and eat some fruits

    Activities for today: Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street

    This morning, we will drive to visit the splendid Potala Palace, which is regarded as one of the most beautiful architectural buildings in the world. You will climb up the palace along the zigzag stone paths with white-and-red walls to the top of the palace where you can not only appreciate the exotic Tibetan-style architecture, but also get a great view of Lhasa's urban areas, then walk into the inner space of Potala Palace to explore the stately chapels and learn about the history of the palace.

    In the afternoon, proceed to visit the spiritual heart of Tibetan Buddhism - Jokhang Temple. Every day, thousands of pilgrims coming from different places to the temple to worship to the Buddha. This temple is also known as the “house of Buddha” for it keeps the precious Jowo Rinpoche, the life-sized (1.5m) image of the Shakyamuni at the age of 12.

    Later, we will have a relaxing walk around Jokhang Temple at Barkhor Street. The local people like to walk on the street for several circles usually in the late afternoon as a daily tradition of pilgrimage. The street also has many shops selling a wide variety of traditional Tibetan goods, religious items and handcrafts.

    Tips for today:
    1. There are 1,080 steps up to climb to the top of Potala Palace, so don't walk in a rush, which may cause high altitude sickness.

    2. Don't disturb pilgrims and Lama. Don't take photos of them without permission.

    3. In Barkhor Street, remember to bargain and compare the price in different shops for the souvenirs when you are purchasing.

    4. Please bring some water, a hat, sun cream, and sun glasses with you.

    Activities for today: Norbulingka, Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery

    After breakfast, we will be visiting the beautiful Norbulingka, which is the former summer palace for successive Lamas holding festival celebrations. You will explore the most beautiful and largest man-made garden in Tibet and soak up its rich history. Further, we will be visiting Drepung Monastery. Drepung means “prosperity”in Tibetan. Since its establishment, Drepung Monastery has always been one of the most important Buddhist monasteries in Tibet. In its heyday, there were more than 10,000 monks lived and studied in the monastery. Throughout its history, many important and famous Tibetan leaders used to study here, especially the Dalai Lamas. So Drepung Monastery is also respectfully known as the "Mother School of Dalai Lamas".

    Thereafter, we will move on to the famous Sera Monastery to see "Buddhism Debating". As a daily routine, the monks gather in a courtyard, and debate on the Buddhist doctrines with supplemented gestures, which is thought to be helpful to facilitates better comprehension of the Buddhist philosophy to attain higher levels of study.

    Tips for today:

    1.Don't wear short and uncover shoulders

    2. Taking off your sunglasses and hat before entering the chapels.

    3. Taking photos is usually not allowed inside the Monasteries.

    Today we will drop you at Lhasa Gonggar Airport to catch the connect flight for onward destination.

The English-speaking guide and driver of each city accompany you throughout the entire tour in that city. They do not fly with you from one city to another.

Service based on two adults sharing on one standard twin/double-bed room (cabin); solo travelers or those who want to occupy one twin/double-bed room/cabin of their own are required to pay additional charge of single supplement rate. A single room (cabin) is subject to availability based on prior request at an additional cost; if the recommended hotel is not available, it will be substituted by a similar class one.
